Neuroplay workshop

Neuro Play is an invitation back into your body in a spirit of playfulness, connection and exploration!

We'll discover how we interact with our inner and outer world, determining what is safe enough to be open and engaging, and connect with our community through play. This is how our nervous systems developed as babies, children, adolescents and continue to do so as adults. This is how we integrated primal reflexes as children and developed resilience personally and communally. Some of us are functioning with unintegrated reflexes, which overtaxes our prefrontal cortex and can result in anxiety, depression and many other neurodiverse experiences. The ability to integrate primal reflexes and support our nervous systems continues at every age.

Neuroplay is an ongoing workshop that allows you to learn how your body moves and reacts to its surroundings and builds resilience through movement and communal interaction. Let's play together!

Cob is a building material

made of clay, sand, water and straw

What are we building?
Joseph and Maura began building a natural, earthen recording studio in their Ferndale backyard. trying to build as sustainably as possible within the cities guidelines. their main materials are wood, bottles, straw and cob.

We look forward to sharing the building experience with you.
Come get muddy! there is something for everyone in this community project!

"Samastah has helped me to look

inward and really see myself with grace and

compassion. It is where I have received support, encouragement, and guidance to continue to

look at myself, and my life, while finding ways to love and accept myself – all of me – just as I am. "

Dana Sladowski

"I would give this studio 10 stars if I had the option, Maura & Joseph are absolutely wonderful to practice with & learn from! I started the yogic development & embodiment course about 3 months ago & have also been taking the yin & hatha classes, all of which have far exceeded my expectations! The amount of healing & growth I've had since I started here is amazing & I absolutely recommend practicing here."

Cassie Leger

"This space is a total gem. If your heart is seeking beauty and belonging, give Samastah a try. Maura and Joseph are gifted teachers who craft their classes to meet the needs of the students who are present. Strongly recommend for postpartum healing. Oh and they sing to you too! Maura has a voice like a bell."

"One of the very best yoga studios I have ever been to. Every time I have practiced here, it has been a great workout, and a true mind exercise. Joseph has the gift! Really a wonderful leader.
The studio is less of a modern work out yoga gym, and more of a traditional eastern/spiritual yoga center"
